PartnerShip Loves Our Carriers! Here is Our September 2018 Carrier of the Month

The mission of PartnerShip is to help our customers ship smarter and stay competitive. The only way we can do that is to partner with great carriers and we love recognizing our awesome partners!

Our September Carrier of the Month is Fanton Logistics of Garfield Heights, OH. They have been serving customers since 2007 and have a fleet of 23 Volvo power units and 53′ dry vans. Building trust and respect through quality customer service and on-time delivery is their main goal.

The main goal of the PartnerShip Carrier of the Month program is to recognize carriers that do an exceptional job helping customers ship and receive their freight. PartnerShip team members nominate carriers that provide outstanding communication, reliability, and on-time performance.

As our September 2018 Carrier of the Month, Fanton Logistics gets lunch and an official framed certificate to proudly hang on their wall.

Consider becoming a PartnerShip carrier because we try very hard to match our freight carriers’ needs with our available customer loads because we understand that your success depends on your truck being full. If you’re looking for a backhaul load or shipments to fill daily or weekly runs, let us know where your trucks are and we’ll match you with our shippers’ loads. If your wheels aren’t turning, you’re not earning.

This is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and PartnerShip would like to recognize the men and women who keep our economy strong by moving freight safely, reliably and efficiently.

"From the food and medicine in our cabinets, the furniture and electronics in our living rooms, and even the cars or bikes in our driveways – none of those items would be available to us without truck drivers," said American Trucking Associations (ATA) COO and Executive Vice President of Industry Affairs, Elisabeth Barna.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week happens September 9 - 15 to honor all 3.5 million professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment. PartnerShip is saying “thank you” with a Dunkin' Donuts gift card for drivers that move a full truckload for us during the week. It’s our small way of thanking drivers for helping our customers ship smarter.

  • Congratulations to our new Certified Transportation Broker!

    07/23/2014 — Scott Frederick

Polly Gordon, CTBAll of us here at PartnerShip would like to congratulate Polly Gordon, our truckload brokerage manager, on a very important achievement. This past weekend, Polly earned her certification as a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) through the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). Polly put in a lot of hard work and dedication into earning this certification. It will serve her well as we take our growing truckload brokerage services to an ever expanding customer base.

The CTB Program was developed by the TIA to increase the professionalism and integrity of property brokerage, meet the educational needs of brokers, and expand basic knowledge of the brokerage and transportation industry through a rigorous certification program. Certification provides an additional edge in the competitive transportation marketplace. It demonstrates to customers that you have the knowledge base, professional integrity, and professional commitment best suited to meet their transportation needs.  The CTB is considered one of the most valuable credentials you can earn in your brokerage career. Visit the TIA website at www.tianet.org to learn more.

If your reading this article and you are a shipper with truckload shipping needs, please let us give you a quote on your next full or partial, dry van, flat bed, or refrigerated truckload shipment. We promise that Polly and her team will find you the right carrier and the right rate to fit your need.

  • Top Trade Shows of 2013

    02/05/2014 — Matt Nagel

Trade ShowsWe attend dozens of trade shows every year to spread the good word about PartnerShip and the savings and shipping solutions we provide. While each trade show we attend has its own merits, we decided to take a closer look at a few of our favorites from 2013:

    • The Winter and Summer Fancy Food Shows - Held in San Francisco and New York City respectively, these Specialty Food Association managed shows offer specialty food businesses a chance to sample newest trends, products, and training in their industry. The show features 1,300 exhibitors representing the latest in specialty foods and beverages from across the U.S. and 35 countries and regions. As exhibitors at both, we are very active at these shows and we even received some video testimonials about our services in New York.
    • Summer and Winter NAMM — A music lover's dream, the NAMM shows bring together some of the most fascinating and talented businesses in the music industry to Anaheim (Winter NAMM) and Nashville (Summer NAMM) each year. Both NAMM shows do a great job of providing a platform for their exhibitors to build their brand, show their products, and reach their customers. Again, we had a chance to attend and get a first-hand video account of customers who are very satisfied with the shipping services through PartnerShip.
    • CAMEX — Managed and organized by the National Association of College Stores (NACS), the non-profit association that owns PartnerShip, CAMEX is the quintessential show for college retailers and suppliers. Every year PartnerShip is an active participant at CAMEX, from our large booth presence, to the various happy hours and parties we sponsor. CAMEX 2013 was held in Kansas City where a winter storm threatened to put a damper on the show for exhibitors, but PartnerShip came to the rescue!
    • ASTRA Marketplace & Academy - Located in Nashville in 2013, the show is a great place for retailers in the toy industry to network and explore the newest toys and products.  The ASTRA Marketplace & Academy attracts owners, managers, and sales representatives from retail stores that sell or specialize in toys, children's books, hobby supplies, and more.
    • 58th MSA Retail Conference and Expo - As the only event designed specifically for buyers at cultural institutions, the event took place in beautiful Los Angeles, California. Along with providing a great networking opportunity, the conference provides attendees with educational programming on current industry topics and trends.
    • NATM Convention & Trade Show — Held in Charleston, SC, this show supports the association's mission to unify the light- and medium-duty trailer manufacturing industry by offering educational tools and workshops to their members. NATM, the association that manages the show, constantly strives to improve trailer safety and performance, address regulatory issues, and improve the image of the industry. Main attractions of the show are their numerous educational workshops covering a wide range of topics including compliance, trailer parts, customer service, and social media.
    • ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition — A trade show by and for association professionals, this show was held in Atlanta, GA. The 2013 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition offered ways to help association executives transform ideas into solutions with more than 120 innovative learning sessions. Take a look at the ASAE YouTube page for a closer look at the event.

With 2013 behind us, the good news is that we won't have to wait long for another chance to rub shoulders with industry experts, exhibitors, and attendees at these and other world class shows in 2014. We hope to see you at one of the shows above - or maybe at one of the dozens of others we attend and support throughouth the year.

  • PartnerShip Honored with 5th Consecutive NorthCoast 99 Award

    09/19/2013 — Scott Frederick

NorthCoast 99 WinnerNACS, Inc. (and PartnerShip as one of its subsidiaries) was officially honored yesterday evening with a fifth consecutive NorthCoast 99 award. NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program that honors 99 great workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio. The program was developed and is presented by ERC. ERC is Northeast Ohio's leading and largest professional organization dedicated to HR practices, programs and services.

Prominent Northeast Ohio organizations were honored at the Westlake, OH banquet last night, including some very familiar names such as the Cleveland Indians, Great Lakes Brewing Co., Majestic Steel USA Inc., University Hospitals, Avery Dennison, Panther Expedited Services, FedEx Custom Critical, and 15-time winner Shearer's Foods Inc. Joining representatives of these prominent organizations was a small, cross-section of NACS, NACSCORP and PartnerShip employees who proudly accepted the award.

Fifteen years ago, NorthCoast 99 was started to showcase organizations that understood that building and enhancing workplaces for top performers was the key to success. It has since transformed from a workplace competition to a movement - with more and more CEOs shifting towards a great workplace strategy. Here are some interesting facts about this year's NorthCoast 99 companies that were shared at the event:

    • 99% sponsor fundraisers, charitable events and/or scholarships
    • 50% coordinate an organization-wide day of community services
    • 83% provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees at least quarterly
    • Fill open positions with internal talent 32% of the time
    • Provided, on average, 47 hours of training and development to employees in 2012
    • 86% offer wellness incentives to employees, and 83% conduct wellness challenges or competitions
    • 76% of the leaders hold small/intimate group gatherings with employees at least monthly
    • 89% offer financial planning assistance

To end the evening, Craig Keilburger, co-founder of Free The Children, gave a very inspirational speech. His message included examples of how one person can make dramatic, positive impacts on the lives of others - a message taken to heart by the NorthCoast 99 companies that strive each and every day to help their employees be successful.

Congratulations to all of this year's NorthCoast 99 winners. Thank you for all that you accomplish, and for building great workplaces along side NACS, Inc. in Northeast Ohio!
