    College Colors Day 2013On behalf of the PartnerShip team ... happy College Colors Day 2013! College Colors Day is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience by encouraging fans across America to wear their favorite college or university apparel throughout the day on Friday, August 30.

    PartnerShip was originally founded in 1989 by the nonprofit National Association of College Stores (NACS) organization to serve the shipping needs of the college industry. Although our business has diversified into many other industries over the past 20+ years, we still have extensive experience and many relationships with college retailers and suppliers across North America. So then, it's only appropriate that our employees should showcase their college pride on this special day. 

    Even though our employees are proudly wearing their diverse college colors today - when it comes to serving the needs of our college and non-college customers, our employee team is solidly united around the PartnerShip colors of blue and green.   • Labor Day Carrier Closures

    PartnerShip will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2013, but we will reopen for our normal business hours on Tuesday, September 3.   • PartnerShip Carriers Recognized for Quality Services

    LM 082013coverJust like last year, once again, almost all of the PartnerShip core carriers were recognized with Quest for Quality awards this year by the readers of Logistics Management magazine.

    As part of the 30th annual Quest for Quality awards competition, Logistics Management readers evaluate companies in all modes and service disciplines, choosing the top performers in key categories. This year the research group received 6,179 total responses. In order to be a "winner," a company had to receive at least five percent of the category vote. Transportation service providers are rated on five key criteria: On-time Performance, Value, Information Technology, Customer Service, and Equipment & Operations.

  • Third Annual National Student Day Coming in October

    National Student Day LogoFor the third consecutive year, our nonprofit parent organization - the National Association of College Stores (or NACS) - will be sponsoring the National Student Day. This special event encourages college stores across the U.S. and Canada to celebrate and connect with their students and customers on October 3, 2013.

    Additionally, National Student Day offers vendors the opportunity to gain direct exposure to the student demographic through advertising on the official National Student Day web site, as well as enhanced branding when companies imprint their logo on all offered merchandise.

    More than 1,500 college stores participated in the 2012 celebration - and there are already more than that signed up to participate this year.

    Even though we have greatly diversified our book of business over the past few years (we now work with over 100 different associations and trade groups and tens-of-thousands shippers across many industries), PartnerShip still has strong roots in the college retail industry.   • PartnerShip Competes in the Cleveland Corporate Challenge

    2013 Cleveland Corporate challengeThe PartnerShip staff (and friends) once again competed in the Cleveland Corporate Challenge. The 2013 games kicked off June 13 and officially ended August 8. The event is always a great team-building, summer activity that helps build pride and camaraderie among our employees.

    This year's activities included the softball, mini golf, skeeball, kickball, volleyball, basketball, footgolf, cornhole, touch football, bowling, a 10K relay, tug-of-war, obstacle course, and 1 mile fun walk. Despite some scheduling issues that prevented PartnerShip from fully participating in every event, we still managed a 5th place finish out of 16 teams in the DIVISION 1 category (<79 employees). The video captures some of the photographic highlights that were shared at an all-staff meeting today.

  • PartnerShip Networks with Association Executives at ASAE 2013

    PartnerShip ASAE BoothJoined by two of my colleagues, I had the opportunity to do some networking at the 2013 ASAE Annual Conference and Exposition this past weekend in Atlanta, GA. One of the themes of the conference centered on the question "What Do You Seek?" with answer being that you can find everything you're looking for at the annual meeting. With more than 120 learning sessions, some amazing networking events, and a great expo show floor - it's hard to argue with the answer.

    From a PartnerShip perspective, we certainly found what we were seeking - a forum to thank many of our existing association clients for their business and support, and a venue to share our experience, story and solutions with hundreds of additional association executives looking to create more value for their members, possibly by building a shipping program through PartnerShip. We were also able to talk to a number of event coordinators and convention bureaus about our trade show shipping expertise, and this seemed to garner a lot of interest.

    To help share our story, we gave prospective clients thumb drives containing our Shipping Services as a Member Benefit for Associations e-Paper, our Association Shipping Programs presentation, and our Company Overview Video. We also had a small raffle for two $100 gift cards to help generate traffic for the booth. At the end of the show we drew two lucky names from the hundred or so entries. Congratulations to Brian from GWSCPA and Margaret from Boat U.S. for being our two lucky winners!

    All-in-all the ASAE put on a phenomenal, first-class show - which included a great opening night at the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, followed by a Go-Go's concert at Pemberton Place. Even though most of the association executives attending the show were  there for two primary reasons - education and unwinding - we really appreciate the new connections we made at the event ... and we're looking forward to more networking in Nashville, TN in 2014!
