Small Package DIM Calculatior

How to determine your billable weight

A diagram of a box shows how to calculate the dimensional weight of a small package for shipping. When determining how much a small package shipment will cost you, it may come as a surprise that the actual weight of your package isn’t necessarily the weight your package will be rated on. FedEx and UPS attempt to recoup the cost of the space your package takes up on their trucks and planes by using what is known as dimensional (DIM) weight pricing.

Use our calculator to find your DIM weight. If it’s higher than the actual weight of your package, the DIM weight is what you will be billed on. Check out our guide to dimensional weight pricing to learn more about how DIM weight is calculated, why it’s used, and how you can avoid overpaying.
