Shipping News Yellow Transportation Announces 5.45% General Rate Increase

Effective August 18, 2003, Yellow Transportation will take a general rate increase of 5.45%. Yellow is one of the last LTL carriers to implement their annual rate increase. Other regional and national carriers have already taken their rate increase for the year, ranging from 5.4% to 6.2%. The Yellow rate increase is an average over all lanes in which Yellow offers its services. Since this is an average, some shipping lanes may experience a higher or lower increase depending upon their point of origin and destination.
